Hi, Alex Betty here, A lover of rock n roll since childhood, favourite artists include early Cliff and of course the Shadows, quite obvious in my own playing style, aswell as Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Bill Haley, and the list goes on. I really got into the music properly when the late 70's early 80's revival started. The Stray Cats, The Polecats, Shakin Pyramids were among my favourites of the time. There are so many excellent live bands on the current scene, keeping the music alive for all of us. Come and join me on Thursdays, 6pm - 8pm for a rockin good show
Hi all I'll try not to bore you with what my great grandmothers favourite food was, or that time I broke a fingernail. Just a quick look at my roots.
I was born 1950 and bred in Plymouth, the UK's Ocean City. Brought up listening to the radio from a very early age, became interest in electronics at 8 years old, and always tuning the radio around to find great sounds. Built a very low power medium wave 'pirate radio transmitter' at 13 years old and spent a bit of my summer holidays playing records to my mates at 'Devils Point'. Then I discovered girls. Wow, everything else went out the window. I gradually grew up and by the time I was 18 years old I had built some 'very' rudimentary disco kit and did my first professional gig for a mates 18th birthday party. I have been full-time self-employed since I was 24 running my Russell Electronic Services business during the day and my mobile disco business evenings and weekends. Maggie, (my wife) and I helped to start up The ALL SAINTS ROCK n ROLL CLUB during 1975, with the massive help of lots of like-minded people in my city. It was great fun during the nationwide RnR revival of the 70's, and we saw locally in Plymouth lots of the new artists that helped the revival.
My musical tastes are very varied, old school British and foreign RnR, Italian soft rock, Doo-Wop, Country rock, Cajun, Surf, early 60's pop, etc, etc,. Anyway, moving on, I closed my electronics business just after my wife died (1999), but kept going with my mobile disco. I then started up a property maintenance business (2000) to keep me occupied during the day. I still work at this now, but I retired from my mobile disco business in 2015. Evenings and weekends I can now get along to lots of 'RnR' gigs with a lovely lady I have found. I am still interested in my electronics and have been a licensed 'ham radio' operator since '92 (G7LUL). I also play around with computers. I think that's enough for here, otherwise the management of this station will throw me off before I start.
Contact me by email/facebook/messenger etc if you want the info on great-grannies favourite food or my broken fingernail!!!! Cheers, and keep on rockin (no G) Teddy-Boy Frank
Little Ann from the Netherlands just loves music, especially Rock and Roll.
Not just to listen but also to perform as a singer. And for years Little Ann and her Tennesse Birds covered many dutch rock and roll stages.
Unfortunately due to study followed by the Covid pandemie the band had to take a really really really long break and didn't make it back together.
So that left Little Ann and her Microphone to find a new hobby.. And she did! Thanks to Rockin50s Radio, they found a matching time slot on Monday from 8 PM till 10PM.
Little Ann will DJ live pretty songs to swing, jive or just dance around the table.
Don't be shy and request your favorite records!
A great Show coming to you from South Wales with The Big Beat
Thanks for listening.
hi my name is Phil Moggy I play everything from the 50's right thru to the modern day bands on the rockin scene I play rockabilly rock 'n' roll doo-wop rockin blues rhythm and anything that is rockin'. I'm also known as the Nutter of Rockin50s Radio.
Hi, I'm Graham Canning and I present my Rockin'50s RnR show every Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8.00am - 10.00am. I started listening to RnR at a very young age, my first record being Party by Elvis. I like all types of RnR and other music of different eras. I confess to being a bit of a music nerd. Any information about any music from any era I seem to absorb like sponge. My music is generally of two types across the breadth of music age. Is the beat a RnR beat to which I can RnR jive, or the ballad slow and romantic enough to which I can smooch, then I'll play it!
I like to provide listeners with info or unusual facts about the music I play rather than just play tracks one after another which might be boring for listeners. I regard myself as a Presenter and not a DJ. I also like a bit of fun during my shows in that what you hear is the real me, warts, cock ups and all, nothing is put on or contrived.
Hello Howlin Howie here, been listening to Rock n Roll and Rockabilly since I was about 7 years old. Just love it. My wife Susan and I run Sandlands Rock n Roll Club and we get out to as many gigs as possible. Really excited about this new station. Looking forward to seeing how it grows.
My wife (Bianca) and I have been listening to rock and roll music since our teens. We got this from home and have always stuck with it.
When we switched from ballroom dancing to rock 'n' roll a few years ago, it all happened quite quickly. We were asked to be part of the dance school's show team and we were allowed to perform at events, in theaters and at private parties throughout the Netherlands.
Later we started a new chapter. Giving dance lessons, presenting a radio show and as a DJ at events. We hope to be able to continue together for a long time and we will continue to enjoy the music.
So a little about myself 57 semi retired and enjoying life Ive been rocking pretty much all my life it started with my mother who was a bobby soxer in the 50s and would play 50s music all the time, eddie cochran being the favourite, i suppose it really kicked off for me as a teen when the revival came round in the late 70s early 80s a visit to the springer pub in bristol and i was hooked !!

If your parents listen to rock and roll music all day, you can do two things... either you don't like it at all or you start to appreciate it more and more. I did the last.
As a surprise I once hosted a radio show and it's quite fun and I stuck around. You can expect everything with me.. Doo Wop, Old School Rhythm and Blues, but also rock 'n' Roll and rockabilly from the past till now...
Hi I'm Bernard and have been a fifties music fan for all my life (so far)! My favourite artists are Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran. Another Lancashire lad, who was a founder member of the fabulous Retronotes band who nobody has ever heard of not that I'm bothered about that, honest! Music means a lot to me.
I was born on 3rd February, the day the music was supposed to have died, well as we say here in Lancashire "did it buggery" and my mission is to do my little bit to keep it alive. During my shows expect every genre of rocking music from Rock n Roll, Rockabilly, Teenage Pop, Doo Wop, Rhythm n Blues, a bit of Swing, Charleston and the odd curve ball thrown in.
In short, I'll be taking the station's motto of "Feel Good Music" seriously.. Ooh Just pour yourself a drink, settle down and expect a Good Rockin' Time'.

Music is in my blood. I was brought up with my mum and dad’s record collection and loved to listen to the radio. I have a very broad taste in music including Ska, Reggae, Rockabilly, Rock n Roll, Punk and Country. In the early 90’s I started DJing and then got in to my first band. In 1998 was my first Rock n Roll band and In 2011 I joined ‘Run Devil Run (UK)’ playing rock n roll, Rockabilly and country with my great mate Pat Winn (who I also wrote and played bass on his Western Star release ‘Shake The Tree’). We had the pleasure of playing in iconic venues mostly around London including the legendary 12 Bar Club, The 100 Club, The Dublin Castle, The Spice Of Life and The Fiddlers Elbow. Our greatest achievement was going to Nashville in 2015 to play a number of gigs and record with legendary singer songwriter Buzz Cason (Everlasting Love). Google him! While out in Nash, we even met Buzz’s good friend Billy Swan. An amazing experience. The band have also supported the incredible 70s/80s band ‘Darts’ at the 100 Club many times. What an honour! Our band also played gigs with Kasabian, Turin Brakes and Mark Lammar being in the audiences. I was also in a great band ‘Sammy-Jo and The Red Flames’ and wrote/co-wrote a handful of songs with them and did many gigs in the 5 years I was with them.
I have a few friends who have their own radio shows and keep introducing me to fantastic artists and music. I am really grateful to Alan (Straughton), Will (Warren) and the legendary Phil (Moggy) for my opportunities to play great music on www.enjoyradio.co.uk and Rockin50s.
Let’s Rock…and roll!

I grew up in the Glam rock era so I naturally got drawn to Rock n Roll and Rockabilly .After hearing the likes of Johnny Burnette , Buddy Holly etc . Sometimes a song from another genre catches my attention if it has a catchy tune . So I tend to play Rock n Roll , Rockabilly with maybe the odd country thrown in just to stir things up a bit . My nickname is Lightnin Len as I am anything but , I have always done things at my pace " Drekley" as they say down here . Rockabilly is my religion and I look forward to sharing it .

Just a quick run down on myself and background. I've been djing now for about 42 years. Everything from night clubs, corporate functions, river cruises etc. you name it and I've done it. But my real passion has always been rock n roll. I'm the former lead guitarist with Meanstreak. Who were extremely busy and very populare a few years back. Also lead guitarist for a Shadows tribute band called Mustang and another band called the Shadz and we backed stars in their eyes contestant Jerry Richards and played many theatres etc. Now very content with life with my partner Samantha and our own Rock n Roll Club callled Paradise. Which we have run now for 15 years. Still recording songs Hank style and doing the odd solo gig.

We are Nerina and Ernie Scott and have been on the rockin' scene since the early 80's. We spent many happy hours at the Weymouth Weekenders back in the day and also at other local venues. We missed out on Caisters/Hemsby Weekenders as family life and work took over. Now we have retired and have re-connected with the rockin' world. Long may it continue.
Unfortunately I don't have time for my own show, but I will step in every now and then when I can

GKP Rockin’ Radio Show is brought to the outside world courtesy of Broadwalk Hospital for the Criminally Insane who allow Inmate 764 to now broadcast from his cell as long as his behaviour remains manageable. Influenced by the legendary DJ Wolfman Jack, Inmate 764 claims to be a time traveller that has discovered the best music of the 1950s, avoiding the payola issues of 1950s radio stations when DJ’s were paid to play certain records and instead, embraces The Wolfmans’ energy of just playing his favourite tracks when he was broadcasting at XERF radio, both black and white artists together rather than the segregated attitudes of a bygone time. This is the first time that GKP Rockin’ Radio has been allowed access to the outside world.
